Frognot, an alternative groove rock band, takes the stage at The Depot Saturday night.

This Dallas-based quartet, formed in 1996, is a unique blend of diverse musicians.

The group consists of Dennis Leonard on vocals, guitar, congas and violin; along with Ken Allen on guitar and vocals; Brian Starustka on bass and vocals, and April Samuels on drums and vocals.

Frognot is a familiar group at such Deep Ellum clubs as Club Clearview, The Galaxy Club, Trees, and Club Dada.

Frognot has also opened for national touring artists such as Phish, Bow Wow Wow, and Anggun.

The group is not content to play the local circuit and 50 dates each year, however. They recorded and released a debut CD in 1998, "Welcome to Frognot," an 11-track showcase of the band's talent.

Doors open at 2:00 p.m. Cover charge is $3. The Depot is located at 1700 Industrial.
