FROGNOT — Welcome to Frognot, CD
Lords and Ladies of the party rock dimension, I suggest for this review that we all convene at my house for a road trip to Frognot, Texas. In listening to this debut CD from Frognot, I had the distinct urge to call in sick from work and host a keg party for the evening. Welcome to Frognot is ripe with fun and upbeat titles, custom made for a funken-groovin' party. Opening track, "What I Want," has a great tripin'-in-the-strobe light groove and sets the tone for the rest of the CD. Other highlights include the driving cut "You Never Know," the hardest cuts "Everyday Thing," and "Stranger Than Me," and cool laid-back pusher "Empty." Finally, drummer April Samuels and Vocalist Dennis Leonard pump out cool vocal-harmonies on "Mother." For their next road trip, Frognot comes to the Galaxy, Saturday, April 11 for their CD Release Party. (Matthew McGregor)
