What Do Frogs and Texas Have in Common?

So what do frogs and Texas have in common? April Samuels, drummer and vocalist for the Dallas Texas band, Frognot.

Before April was old enough to start first grade, she had picked up her first pair of drumsticks. At the age of 11 she was playing cornet in the school band and taking drum lessons outside of school. After switching from cornet to french horn, she and her brother, Todd, began jamming together and formed several garage bands.

In 1989, she played her first ever club gig with the band 100 Proof. While she was gigging she attended the University of North Texas and majored in music. A couple of years later 100 Proof had given way to Freeloader which gave way to the band Sloe Gin. Sloe Gin featured Jeff Blair formerly of the Aristaya.

By 1992, Sloe Gin, had fizzled and East of Eden was formed. East of Eden played around Texas for a few years. By 1996, April met Dennis (formerly of Pulp Society) and they formed Frognot.
