April 16th & 17th at Roadhouse 66, Amarillo was given a dose of total funk. Frognot, a Dallas-based funk and rock band, grooved their way into our music scene. Their fantastic rhythm, harmony, and exploding talent was a very new style to hit this town.

Frognot is Dennis Leonard, singing with amazing soul as well as playing guitar, congas, and a beautiful styling of violin. Ken Allen, guitar and vocals, adds his own spice to the sound with fun and unique riffs. Brian Starustka, a phenomenal bassist, added funk and feeling to the already incredible sound (not to leave out an awesome solo spot). Drummer/vocalist April Samuels gives a great beat and adds excitement along with her beautifully harmonized singing.

Their 1998 debut album, "Welcome to Frognot", is an eleven-track album, surely to be a crusin' favorite, shows they're talent and uniquely funk sound, but they absolutely rock during a live performance. If you have the chance, be sure and see them, if not...get the album, it's really worth it!

Frognot entered the Dallas music scene in 1996 and hasn't stopped since. They've played all over Dallas and Oklahoma, performing twice on Fox's "Good Day Dallas" show, and having airplay as far away as Brisbane, Australia.

The music was great, but what also added to their performance was how they handled themselves on stage. They were dancing around, cracking jokes, and obviously having a pretty good time. You can really tell that they love what they do.

Not only was Frognot funkin' fantastic, they were extremely nice. Thanks for coming to our town and getting your groove on! Please, come back soon.
