The wax tears down this tall red candlestick
I realize it's the flame that makes her cry
She gazes lifeless as the shadows change her mind
It never stays the same still the fire remains

Heated by her lullaby she quietly says goodnight
Talking to herself will surely keep her sane
She won't move and she won't change a thing
Nothing stays the same, still the fire remains

The flame dances to its low dim shapeless light
Burning slow her sparks drift into the night
She reaches to the fire numb to its pain
There is tomorrow if the fire remains
