Detailed background: I picked up my first pair of drum sticks when I was five years old. When I was eleven, I began taking private drum lessons while simultaneously playing cornet in the school band. By fourteen, I had switched from cornet to french horn, all along still playing drums outside of school. My brother (guitar) and I (drums) jammed together in several garage bands all along on until about 1988. In that same year, I began playing with former Frognot guitarist Ken in several garage bands (Desert Pelican, Bad Attitude) and then we exploded on to the club scene with 1OO Proof. We played our first ever club gig in 1989. During this time, I also attended the University of North Texas, majoring in Music. After the demise of 1OO Proof in 1991, I formed the band Freeloader, later known as Sloe Gin, featuring Jeff Blair, formerly of Aristaya. After the break up of Sloe Gin in 1992, I helped form the band East of Eden. East of Eden continued to play around Texas until 1995. I met Dennis while managing his band, Pulp Society, from 1990 through its end in 1996. After the break up of Pulp Society, Dennis and I formed Frognot.
